• Push the handle back onto the
appliance until it snaps into place.
Only use Braun energy cells. These are
available from the retailer where this
appliance was purchased, as well as
from authorized Braun Service Centers.
The energy cells can be inserted or
removed at any time, even if they are
only partially filled.
Switching on
• To start the energy supply, slide
switch (B) up to position «1».
• Continue to slide it further up to the
«start» position until you hear a click.
Remove your finger from the switch
and let the switch move back to
position «1».
• The ignition window (C) lights up to
show that the appliance is heating
up. In the unlikely case that it does
not heat up, make sure the energy
supply is on and push the switch (B)
to the start position again.
• After approximately two minutes,
the ready indicator dot (D) changes
color. The appliance is now ready
for use.
Straightening
• Make sure your hair is completely dry
before using the appliance.
• First, comb or brush your hair to
remove tangles.
• Section your hair off. Place a strand

plates and clamp it at the roots. It is
easier if you hold the hair section at
an angle away from your head.
• To straighten, slowly pull the
appliance towards the ends of the
hair with a continuous movement.

After use
To switch off, slide the energy supply
switch (B) back to position «0» = off.
Cleaning and storage
Make sure the appliance is switched off
and cooled down. You may clean the
appliance with a soft damp cloth only.
Never immerse the appliance in water.
After use or cleaning, always place the
protective cover (A) on the appliance.
The protective cover is heat-resistant
and ensures that the appliance is not
switched on unintentionally. You can put
the appliance away immediately after
use.

When travelling by air, please note that
no more than one appliance may be
carried by each crew member or
passenger aboard an aircraft in checked
luggage, if the protective cover is
secured over the heating element.
Separate gas refills are not permitted.
