BEFORE OPERATION

Unpacking
1. Take all parts out of the packaging.
2. Check all parts for transportation damages. If you detect any damages or if parts are
missing, please contact your dealer.
Attention ! Always pull the plug and switch the device OFF, before you
assemble the device or replace parts.
Assembly
Mount the supplied hand guard and fasten it with the supplied screws.
Extension flex
Attention! A defective extension flex may cause electric shocks or fire. Check
the flex regularly and carefully for damages. The device must not be used with
a damaged extension flex; damaged flexes must be replaced.
1. Use a proper extension flex. For flex lengths up to 30m a flex type H07RN-F with a diameter
of at least 1.5 mm² must be used. A flex with a diameter that is too small leads to voltage
and performance losses.
2. The extension flex must be kept out of the working area.
3. The state of the extension flex must be checked regularly. Defective flexes must be
replaced.
Operating
Attention! Thrown-about objects may cause serious injuries of the operator or
other persons. Always wear eye and ear protectors as well as a proper
working dress. Spectators must keep a distance of at least 5m.
Your hedge trimmer is equipped with a two-hand safety circuit. This means that it works only
when the switch button on the guide handle is pressed with the one hand while the switch
on the handle is being pressed with the other hand. If you let go of either switching element,
the blades will stop moving.
The blades take time to slow down to a standstill. Please make allowance.
1.
Check that the blades are working properly. High cutting performance
and smooth operation are guaranteed by the counter-rotating, dual-edge
blades.
2.
Fasten the extension cable in the corresponding cable holder each
time before you use the hedge trimmer.
3.
Use only approved extension cables for outdoor use.
Practical tips
• The hedge trimmer can be used to cut shrubs and bushes as well as
hedges.
• For the best performance, hold the hedge trimmer with its teeth at an
angle of approx 15° to the hedge.
• Cutting in both directions is possible with the counter-rotating dual-edge
blades.
• To trim your hedge to a uniform height, run a lenght of string along the hedge for
guidance and cut-off the projecting branches.
Cut the sides of the hedge with sweeping movements from the bottom up.
