Tree cutting climbing spikes designed
to provide support when climbing tree trunks
Description :
Climbing spikes are primarily used by tree cutting professionals when performing cutting work above ground (branch
removal). Together with safety lines and a positioning harness, they are used to climb up tree trunks.
The spike kits comprise:
- Leather protective shells that are symmetrical and reinforced with high density foam with three position
metal sheaths for mounting the angle frame.
- An aluminium angle frame (left and right) that is comfortable to use and matches the shape of the lower
leg.
- Three-sided stainless steel spikes that are removable, symmetrical and can be sharpened.
- PVC retaining straps for shin and ankle.
Use :
The spikes (once fitted and adjusted) are worn on each foot (one on the right and one on the left), with tightening
carried out using the straps provided (around the shin and ankle).
Depending on the length of the user's lower leg, set the protection shell height (three adjustable positions), so that
the protective shell is three finger's below the kneecap.
Before use, always check spike and shell tightness.
Maintenance :
We recommend cleaning the climbing spikes (leather, foam and angle frame) using soapy water and rinsing under
running water and leaving to dry in the open air.
NB: All of the component parts (except the angle frame) are available as spares.
Sharpening spikes : Sharpen the two upper sides in line with the original angles, using a flat file or grinder and fine
grain disk (higher than 80 grade).
