5. USE OF THE EQUIPMENT
5.1 PRELIMINARY OPERATIONS
First of all, referring to the pictures and tables in the first pages of this manual, identify all the parts
of the equipment, their position and their specific function. Every time that a part of the equipment
will be mentioned, it will be possible to clearly identifying it in its relevant picture.
Now take the equipment off from the box, check for "D" general switch to be turned off (position
"0") and for "J" operation lever to be in "O" position, which means downwards.
Before starting the machine for the first time, it is necessary to do the following:
• Control battery charge and charge it if necessary, as indicated in par. 6.2. This operation is inten-
ded for assuring the best endurance and shall be carried out every time the equipment is utilized after
a period of inactivity and anyway AT LEAST every four months.
• Tie "F" shoulder straps hooks to the lower part of the machine, releasing the strings of "E" shoulder
straps, whose length is adjustable, as to keep them quite long.
• Mount the accessories for product delivery: on "L" hose fitting install respectively "G" hose, "H"
extension tube and "I" dust-spreading tube.
• Check for "A" air inlets not to be obstructed in no way.
5.2 TANK FILLING
• The dust shall be dry and sliding, with no crumbs or solid aggregates.
• Utilising some humid dust, add 5% of dead lime.
• Use protective devices for your hands, eyes and mouth before starting filling procedure.
• After having checked for the equipment to be completely turned off, unscrew "B" cover of the
equipment and pour the product in powder in "K" tank up to wished quantity. During this operation
do not insert in the tank any tool, your hands or arms either.
• Screw with care "B" cover.
5.3 HOW TO PUT THE EQUIPMENT ON YOUR BACK
• If this has never been done before, loosen "E" shoulder straps belts, that have already been tied
to the lower part of the equipment, in such a way as to have them quite long and help putting the
equipment on your back.
• Slip one arm in one shoulder strap belt and load the pump on one shoulder. By the other hand
grasp the other shoulder strap belt and put it on the other shoulder.
• Adjust only now the length of the belts until the position of the equipment on your back is correct,
balanced and comfortable.
• Hold and keep in the wished position the product delivery tube.
• Before turning the equipment on, be sure that delivery direction is not towards other persons.
5.4 STARTING OF THE EQUIPMENT: BEGINNING OF WORKING ACTIVITY
In order to correctly start the equipment, the following operations shall be carried out in the indica-
ted order
• Check for "J" operation lever to be in rest position (position "0"), which means completely low.
• Put "D" general switch on "1".
• Bring "J" operating lever on position "1", ventilation system of the equipment starts and some air
with no dust is delivered.
• After a few seconds, bring "J" operation lever in the position your prefer (from "2" to "4"), as to
deliver the dust mixed with air. The three positions following the first one correspond to increasing
dust quantity: use position "2" for low quantity of dust, position "3" for a mean quantity of dust and
"4" for a big quantity of dust. From that moment on, the delivery is constant until dust runs out.
• During working phase, to help dust's downward movement in the tank, we suggest to periodically
shake the equipment, keeping it on your shoulders.
IMPORTANT: do not completely discharge the battery and consider endurance time indi-
cated in the technical characteristics.
