Only use the kettle to boil water. The appliance is
not suitable for boiling other liquids.

LOCATION OF THE APPLIANCE
•
Place the appliance on a stable, level, splash-
proof surface that can withstand heat.
•
Ensure that there is sufficient space around the
appliance for the heat to escape and for adequate
ventilation.
•
Do not cover the appliance.
•
Ensure that the kettle doesn't come in contact
with flammable materials.
•
Keep the appliance away from heat sources.
•
Ensure that children do not have access to stored
appliances.
ADDITIONAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
The appliance's lid must be closed properly
•
when in use. If the lid is not properly closed, the
steam won't be properly channelled!
•
Be careful with hot water and steam, to avoid
burns.
•
Only use the base supplied with the appliance.
•
Never remove the appliance from the base while
it's operating.
The kettle is double layered. This way, the outer wall
will not get as hot, and the boiled water will stay
warm for longer.
•
Only turn the appliance on when you've filled it
sufficiently with tap water.
•
You must not move the kettle while it's operating.
•
Make sure that the water level is between the
minimum and maximum indication when you turn
on the appliance. If you overfill the kettle, it will
boil over. In that case, hot water will possibly •
The exterior stays cooler than is the case for
ordinary metal kettles. Even so, be careful when
you touch the exterior.
FIRST USE
•
Clean the appliance and the accessories. Refer to
the 'Cleaning' section.
•
Remove the kettle from the base.
•
Fill the kettle with tap water up to the maximum
indication on the water level indicator.
•
Boil the water. Refer to the 'Boiling water' section.
•
Do not consume the water you've just boiled and
do not use it for anything else. Allow it to cool
first and then throw it away.
BOILING WATER
•
Always remove the appliance from the base
before filling it with tap water.
•
Fill the kettle with water until the water level is
between the minimum and maximum indication.
•
Close the lid and put the kettle back on the base.
•
Switch on the appliance by setting the on/off
switch to 'I'. The on/off indicator turns on. The
appliance starts to boil water.
•
Once the water has boiled, the appliance
switches off automatically. The on/off indicator
turns off.
•
Turn the on/off switch to the 'O' position to
interrupt the process.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
•
Unplug the appliance from the socket and wait
for it to cool.
•
Never immerse the appliance in water or any
other liquid.
•
Do not use aggressive or abrasive cleaning
agents to clean the appliance.
•
Do not use sharp objects to clean the appliance.
•
Regularly check the appliance for possible
damage. Clean the kettle's outside surface using
a soft, damp cloth. Then, use a dry cloth to dry
thoroughly.
•
Use a clean, dry cloth to clean the base.
DESCALING
When to descale:
•
You must descale the kettle after every 25 uses.
•
The warranty does not cover damage caused by
failure to descale the appliance regularly.
Descaling agent:
•
Only use a suitable descaling agent when
descaling. The descaling agent's packaging will
indicate the different uses. You can find suitable
descaling agents in supermarkets and hardware
stores, amongst other places.
•
HEMA and the supplier will not be responsible
for damage caused by descaling agents.
•
Do not use vinegar, vinegar concentrate or citric
acid to descale the appliance.
