Note: The instructions in this manual describe operation of the Cochlear
Mini Microphone with one Cochlear sound processor. If you are a bilateral
recipient (using two Cochlear sound processors), note that one Cochlear
Mini Microphone can be used with two Cochlear sound processors. If this
is the case, the same instructions apply to both sound processors.
Introduction
The Cochlear Mini Microphone streams speech directly to your sound
processor.
The line-in functionality of the Mini Microphone will provide you with a
streamed audio signal (mono) from your stereo, personal computer, TV or
similar device directly to your sound processors.
Please read this manual carefully to fully benefit from the Cochlear Mini
Microphone. Ask your hearing care professional if you have any questions.

Intended use
The Cochlear Mini Microphone is intended to enable Cochlear sound
processor users to better follow speech or listen to other audio signals. The
essential performance of the Cochlear Mini Microphone is to transfer signals
from the microphone or other audio devices to a Cochlear wireless sound
processor.

Getting Started
Charging the Battery

Before using your Cochlear Mini Microphone for the first time:
•
Charge the battery fully for at least 3 hours, even if battery indicators
indicate it is fully charged.
•
During the charging process, the LED indicator will glow red. When fully
charged and still connected to the charger, the LED will glow green with
intermittent red flashes every 2 seconds.
•
Charging a flat battery takes around 3 hours. The charger can be connected
overnight; the battery cannot be overcharged.
•
For safety reasons, recharge the battery only with chargers supplied by
Cochlear.
Caution: Do not charge the Cochlear Mini Microphone while it is
being worn.
Turning your Mini Microphone
on and off
Turning your Cochlear Mini Microphone on or off:
•
On: slide the switch to the on position; the LED indicator will flash green
every 2.5 seconds.
•
Off: slide switch to the off position; the LED will stop flashing.
Pairing with your sound processor
You can pair up to three Cochlear streaming devices with your Cochlear sound
processor.
Select a separate channel for each device paired with the sound processor.
Pairing the Mini Microphone in channel one
1. Turn off your Cochlear sound processor(s).
2. Turn on your Cochlear Mini Microphone.
3. Remove the silver cap from the Cochlear Mini Microphone.
4. Press the pairing button once using the tip of a pen or similar object. See

. The LED will flash yellow every two seconds and the device will
now be in pairing mode for 20 seconds.
5. While pairing mode is active, turn on your sound processor.
Successful pairing will be indicated by either an audible melody played in the
sound processor, or by a flashing light on the sound processor (depending on
the type of sound processor).
Pairing the Mini Microphone in channel 2 or 3
Follow the previous instructions but press the pairing button twice to pair in
channel two, or three times to pair in channel three.
