1.
Locate a convenient place on the outside of the building.
2.
Decide which knockout will be used to make the connection. Mark the drill hole
and use the appropriate type 7/8" bit for the material that will be drilled.
3.
Using a hammer and screwdriver, knockout the pre-determined hole in the back
of the box. For any other knockouts that may be used, local electrical codes
must be checked to determine what type of fitting to use.
4.
Mark the four hole locations and attach the box to the wall using 1" hex head
screws. Drill holes first for anchors, if installing onto a masonry wall.
5.
Feed the four transfer switch wires through the conduit into the box. Strip all
wires 5/8". Using tan wire nuts, twist the red and the red wires together; twist
the white and the white wires together and twist the black and the black together.
Using a green wire nut, twist both green ground wires together.
6.
Close and secure the box. The generator power cord may now be plugged into
the box.
