ASSEMBLY
The safety regulations to follow are described in
chap. 2. Strictly comply with these indications to avoid
serious risks or dangers.
For storage and transport purposes, some components of
the machine are not installed in the factory and have to be
assembled after unpacking. Follow the instructions below.
Unpacking and completing the assembly should
be done on a flat and stable surface, with enough
space for moving the machine and its packaging,
always making use of suitable equipment. Do not use
the machine until all the indications provided in the
"ASSEMBLY" section have been carried out.
4.1

ASSEMBLY COMPONENTS

The packaging includes assembly components.
4.1.1
Unpacking
1.
Carefully open the packaging, paying
attention not to lose components.
2.
Consult the documentation in the box,
including these instructions.
3.
Remove all the unassembled parts from the box.
4.
Remove the machine from the box.
5.
Dispose of the box and packaging in
compliance with local regulations.
4.2

GRASS CATCHER ASSEMBLY

The grass-catcher is supplied fully assembled.
Make sure all the components are correctly
assembled (Fig.3.A) (Type "I" - "II").
4.3

HANDLE ASSEMBLY

Open the handle to the working position carefully (Fig.4.A).
Insert the starter cable in the lower (if applicable)
and upper spiral and tighten the nut (Fig.4.B).
5.
CONTROLS
5.1

MANUAL STARTER HANDGRIP

Enables manual starting of the engine (Fig.5.A).
5.2

THROTTLE CONTROL

Regulates the engine's r.p.m. and allows it to stop (Fig.6.A).
The positions are indicated on the plate
showing the following symbols:
1.
"Choke" engaged. Used to turn
on the engine when cold.
2.
Full throttle. To be used always
when the machine is running.
3.
Minimum. Used when the
machine is sufficiently warm during
stationary periods of operation.
4.
Engine stop. Used to stop the engine.
NOTE A cold start of the engine means
starting it after at least 5 minutes from when
it was switched off or after refuelling.
5.3
CUTTING MEANS ENGAGEMENT
CONSENT LEVER
This lever conveys consent for the
engagement of the cutting means.
Consent is provided when the lever
(Fig.7.A) is pulled toward the handle.
When you release the consent lever (Fig.7.A) the
cutting means stops, and the engine keeps running.
5.4
CUTTING MEANS ENGAGEMENT
CONSENT LEVER
This lever engages the cutting means (Fig.7.B).
The cutting means must only be engaged
when the engine is running.
To engage the cutting means:
1.
Pull the consent lever (Fig.7.A)
towards the handle.
Firmly push the engagement lever
2.
(Fig.7.B) as far forward as possible and
allow it to return to its idle position.
This movement must be quick
and decisive to prevent the clutch
from slipping and damaging.
IMPORTANT During first use of the machine
after purchase, it is highly recommended to repeat
the cutting means engagement and release
sequence at least 20 times in succession. This
procedure optimises clutch performance.
5.5

DRIVE ENGAGEMENT LEVER

This engages the wheel drive and allows
the machine to move forward.
1.
Drive engaged. Push the lever toward
the handle for forward movement
(Fig.8.A). The lawnmower stops moving
forward when the lever is released.
IMPORTANT The engine must always
be running with the drive disengaged.
IMPORTANT To prevent damage to the transmission,
do not pull the machine backwards with the drive engaged.
