The DT-421D module allows the user to select between the operating
mode SPTS or MPTS independently for each ASI. The module converts, for
both configurations, 4 TS-ASI inputs to TS-IP multicast outputs. If the
resulting TS delivered at the output offers only one service, it is called SPTS
(Single Program Transport Stream). If the resulting TS delivered at the
output offers more than one service, it is called MPTS (Multiple Program
Transport Stream). Then, the configuration options for the DT-421D module
are:
SPTS Configuration
In the SPTS configuration the module works as a converter module
from ASI to IP multicast SPTS streams. This module should be
connected to a DT-302 module and / or DT-312 at the input,
which provide TS-ASI streams. Each of these TS-ASI inputs
contains various services and using the DT-302 and / or DT-312
module, the user should select up to 10 services. The module
assigns an IP multicast to each of the selected services. The result
is delivered to the Ethernet output so that each service is a TS-IP
multicast SPTS, up to 40 (10 for each ASI). Each service must
have a different IP that can not be repeated under any
circumstances. Each service must have a different SID on each
ASI.
MPTS Configuration
In the MPTS mode the module works as a converter module from
ASI to IP multicast MPTS streams. Each one of the TS-ASI
inputs can carry several services (all the ASI services). The result is
that delivers up to 4 TS-IP multicast MPTS streams through the
Ethernet output, which contain the same services and DVB-SI
tables than the TS-ASI input.
