HELPFUL HINTS

- We recommend positions #6 to #8 on the thermostat for ideal waffles.
- Opening the waffle maker too soon while baking can result in difficulty in removing the
waffle from the waffle maker.
- To remove waffles after baking, use a wooden spatula if not using our waffle fork. Do not use
other metallic utensils. Use of metallic utensils may result in scratching or damage to the
plates.

CLEANING AND CARE

Unplug the waffle maker and allow to completely cool before cleaning.
WARNING: DO NOT IMMERSE THE BASE OF THE WAFFLE MAKER INTO WATER OR ANY OTHER
LIQUID.
Wipe the outside of the waffle maker with a damp cloth. Do not use steel wool, scouring pads
or abrasive kitchen cleaners on the waffle maker.
To wash the plates, first remove them from the waffle maker by following the steps in CHAN-
GING THE PLATES. Wash the plates in hot water with a small amount of dish soap. After the
plates have been dried, return them to the waffle maker by following the steps in CHANGING
THE PLATES.
The plates may be washed in the dishwasher, top-rack only. Please note that if washed in the
dishwasher, the underside of the plates may oxidize, or develop a white residue, due to the
minerals that are in the water. This will not affect the cooking performance of the plates.
If the cord has been damaged, please contact West Bend for assistance.
