MASTER DISCONNECT SWITCH – Mr. Gasket Part No. 6276
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE BEGINNING INSTALLATION.
GENERAL INFORMATION
The Mr. Gasket Master Disconnect Switch has a continuous
rating of 20 AMPs at 12 Volts with a momentary rating of
125 AMPs at 12 Volts.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
Step 1
Disconnect battery.
Step 2
Determine negative cable.
Step 3
Choose suitable mounting position for switch.
Step 4
For trunk mounted battery installations, use Mr. Gasket
Battery Installation Kit Part No. 6279. If battery cable is
needed, use Mr. Gasket Battery Cable Kit Part No. 6278.
Both kits have cable terminal ends needed to complete
shut-off switch installation.

Step 5
Install switch. Refer to wiring diagram below for desired
wire installation. On cars equipped with a body ground
wire (example: Late GM or Chrysler), failure to route this
wire through the shut-off switch will result in a melted
body ground strap when the starter is engaged. NOTE:
Do not attach positive and negative cables to shut-
off switch at the same time. BATTERY EXPLOSION
MAY RESULT.
Step 6
Reconnect battery and check for correct operation.
NOTE: BE sure ignition switch is in OFF position
before turning shut-off switch to OFF position to
eliminate voltage spikes that could damage ignition
components.
