POWERSPOT LANYARD

Lanyard is a small electric generator able
to power and charge several devices, that
will not need any replacement parts or
maintenance.
Lanyard is a particularly robust and com-
pact device that can generate an elec-
trical current between 10 and 20W (de-
pending on each version), which is
enough to charge any phone or tablet;
it also can recharge batteries, feed up to
twenty LED light bulbs connected in par-
allel (especially the ones made by Pow-
erSpot, which are adjusted to the capac-
ity of this device). Its small dimensions
(10 cm diameter and 6 cm high) make it
easy to carry in a rucksack or even in the
pocket of your trousers. It is, therefore,
a "personal" power generator that allows
the individualized administration of pow-
er at any time and place, no matter how
remote.
This device to work requires a constant
supply of heat (either gas, kerosene, al-
cohol, wood, hot iron, a vitroceramic
hob etc.) and the supervision of the water
level. Submitted to a flame of 2,000w the
water takes about half an hour to evap-
20
orate, but if it is placed over an alcohol
burner flame the liquid can take around
an hour to evaporate. An intense flame
will only be necessary when you need to
light up several light bulbs, but to charge
a mobile phone or tablet a small flame
will be enough.
It is essential to take into account that it
can never be left to dry. Although it is
extremely robust and has been submit-
ted to intense resistance test, the cool-
ing liquid can never be left to dry, the
evaporation of it will make the semicon-
ductors on its interior to melt. To the ef-
fects of the warranty, the knowledge of
the conditions that this device have been
submitted to, and the protection of the
user in relation to manufacturing de-
faults, there is a thermolabile label inside
that will indicate if at any time the device
has been left on the flame without liquid.
The average consumption is 25 gr of gas,
kerosene or alcohol per hour. Therefore,
a bottle of one litre of kerosene will feed
a Lanyard during 20 hours at full perfor-
mance (e.g. charging an iPad), or almost
