Compatibility:
Compatibility with iThink module: V1.0 or higher.
Compatibility with Mordomus software: Mordomus iThink
V2017 or higher.
ATTENTION:
Never open the housing.
Never remove the circuit board from its housing.
Never crimp or cut cables while they are connected
to powered equipment.
The module is not provided with additional protection
iUD4
against short circuit, therefore it is recommended to
use a power supply with the correct specifications.
Mordomus shall not be liable for any damages
resulting from the use of our equipment outside the
specifications and/or for a purpose other than that
intended.
When using a low cross section cable there might be
voltage drops that could force the module into under-
voltage protection mode.
Do not connect power supplies with an output current
greater than 4A.
The power supply shall never be connected to the
modules at the extremities of the bus as in
Do not connect fluorescent lamps or loads other than
those mentioned in this
manual.
When connecting low voltage lamps, do not connect
more than one transformer per output. Look up in the
manual of the transformer if it is compliant with
dimming.
The power input (1 and 2) of the iUD4 module must
be protected by a thermal-magnetic circuit breaker of
suitable size for the connected loads.
The power supply shall be connected to a central
module in order to distribute the power to the
remaining modules. For larger installations add as
many power supplies as required, always respecting
a uniform distribution. View
Figure 3
Do not touch live components (mains voltages
present inside the module).
Do not connect different load types to the same
output (for example: inductive transformers and
electronic transformers). Danger – Module and loads
might be destroyed!
Do not mix up different types of load on the same
output.
Always define the correct regulation type for the loads
connected to each output. Danger – Module and
loads may be damaged otherwise!
Trailing-edge, this mode should be used with C type loads
(electronic transformers) and HV LEDs. Might also be used
with incandescent/halogen lamps.
Leading–edge, this mode should be used with L and R type
loads, (iron core transformers and incandescent/halogen
lamps).

MDiBus connection: To connect the module to the MDiBus a CAT
figure
2.
6 UTP cable with RJ45 connectors according to EIA568A or
EIA568B standards must be used.
15VDC Power supply: It is recommended to use the iPSE154
power supply. The iUD4 module can source its power from other
nearby modules through the MDiBus cable.
Enrollment:
To enroll the iUD4 module proceed as follows:
1.
Make sure that the iUD4 is powered by a suitable
power supply
and connected to the MdiBus
.
2.
In the Mordomus software access the menu
Configurations
and
Modules/Addresses.
3.
On the iUD4, press and hold the addressing button
for at least 1sec. The green LED will blink slowly
until the addressing is complete.
4.
The iUD4 should be added automatically to the list
and the green LED should stop blinking.
Short-circuit protection: In the event of a short-circuit at an
output, this protection is activated interrupting the flow of
electrical current to this specific output. This protection is also
activated in case of an overload condition.
To rearm the circuit, it is necessary to switch the output on again.
Over-temperature protection: The overheat protection shuts
the whole module down in case of excessive temperature.
The circuit is rearmed automatically when a safe operating
temperature is reached.
The dimming mode of each channel can be defined in the
Mordomus Software by selecting the desired output in
Configurations, Modules/Addresses.
Regarding the quality of the regulation:
When dimming lamps these might be subject to permanent or
temporary scintillation. This scintillation can be caused by any of
the circumstances referred below and cannot be viewed as a

defect of the module.
Instability of the mains grid;
Noise in the mains grid or installation;
Module not set according to the connected load type;
Too many or too few lamps connected to the module;
Output level set to low;
:
Non-dimmable lamps connected;
Function
Ripple control impulses from the mains grid.

Reset:
To perform a reset to the module, interrupt the 15VDC
power supply for 5 seconds.
LED codes:
Green LED ON: Module powered and enrolled to software;
Red LED ON: Module powered and not enrolled to software;
Green and Red LEDs blinking simultaneously: Under-voltage
protection mode. Power supply voltage is to low;
Green LED blinking continuously: Module awaiting address
definition;
Red LED flashing: Module sending/receiving data.
Note: The light of the green and red LEDs is visible through the
grid of the plastic enclosure.
