Before first use
To eliminate any manufacturing residues, operate the toaster a couple of times
without bread, with the browning control on a medium browning level. It is
normal if smoke is seen during this time.
Note: the bread carriage handle will not stay down if the toaster is not plugged in.
How to use
•
Each time the toaster is used, check if it is clean as it comes in direct contact
with bread. Check if any bread has fallen into the slots.
•
Place bread slices in the slots.
•
Press down the bread carriage handle until it stops. At this time, the grid slots
will tighten around the bread to keep it away from the heating wires. Release
the pressure and the handle will stay in the lower position, which means the
heating process has begun. If the handle should come up immediately, check
to see if the toaster is plugged in.
•
BROWNING CONTROL – Adjust toast shade to the desired setting (1-7),
clockwise to increase the browning and counter clockwise to decrease it. The
higher the number is, the more toasted the bread will be.
•
During operation, if you think the bread is toasted enough or for any other
reason, you can stop the heating process by pressing the CANCEL button.
•
REHEAT – Reheat already toasted bread or toast bread which is not toasted
enough, during a short time.
•
To reheat bagels, use the BAGEL button. Only one side in the toaster slot will
then be heating.
•
DEFROST – Toast bread that has been frozen beforehand. This function offers
a longer heating time.
•
Excess lengths of the power cord can be stored under the base. Before
storing, wind the cord around the hooks.
•
To remove bread crumbs, slide out or remove the crumb trays in the bottom
of the toaster, empty and replace in the toaster before using.
CAUTION! It is very important to empty the crumb trays regularly. Crumbs that
have accumulated in the toaster might burn and the toaster may catch fire.
