Note that the carrying strap has two loops:
– a shorter loop for attaching to the eyelet on the
monocular
– a longer loop for attaching the eyepiece protective cap
adjustIng the eye cuP/

usIng WIth and WIthOut glasses

The eyepiece eye cup (1) is adjustable� It should be
extended (1a) for viewing without and retracted for view-
ing with glasses (1b)�

adjustIng the fOcus

The focus is adjusted for objects at different distances
using the focusing ring (3)�

usIng the clOse uP lens

The LEICA MONOVID 8x 20 can also be used to provide a
magnified view of objects that are at close range�
To do this, the close up lens (5) supplied is screwed into
the inner thread (5a) on the monocular lens (clockwise)�
Depending on the position of the focusing ring, this
results in a viewing distance of around 25–30 cm with an
identical magnification�
