Problems and Solutions

When interrupting the ironing session for
extended periods, water droplets drip out of
the iron.
When interrupting your ironing work for extended
periods, the steam trapped in the feed pipe may
condense. This is the reason why drops may be
emitted from the iron when you resume your ironing.
Recommendation: Do not apply the first couple of
steam blows directly onto the fabric to be ironed.
Creases develop in spite of having activated
the steam function.
Iron your garment using steam in one direction and
use a dry iron afterwards to "fix" the fabric. When
ironing laundry items coated with residual starch
in the fibre (after the wash), you can obtain good
ironing results by spraying the item or applying more
steam, before "fixing" the fabric
The steam iron is only producing hot water.
The steam station is overfilled. Switch off the station
(switch [9]). Steam off the excess quantity of hot
water. Switch off the steam iron (switch [10]), re-
move the plug for the steam station and empty the
steam generator.
Then refill the steam generator with a maximum of
1 litres of water and start to use the steam station
again. If the problem continues, please contact our
Leifheit-Customer Service Centre.

Claims Management

If you have claims or defects with your purchased appliance, please proceed as follows:

The iron remains cold.

the iron is switched on. Set the heat control dial to the

The iron grip gets hot.
It is quite normal for the grip of this particular iron
model to get warm However, if the grip gets too hot to
touch, switch off the steam ironing sytem immediately
and contact the Leifheit-Customer Service Centre.
The iron won't stop to emit steam.
The button on your iron is jammed. Press the button
several times in succession to clear the blockage.
If the problem continues, please contact our Leifheit-
Customer Service Centre.
Water keeps running out of the iron.
When the iron cools down, condensed water usually
forms in the extraction tray. Ensure that the steam
extraction function is always on while ironing. Remove
cover from ironing board to let it dry.
If too much steam is dispensed, this will also increase
the build-up of moisture. Please note the instructions
for ironing given on page19 – iron forwards with
steam and backwards without steam!

Loss of pressure.
Each time the steam iron system is started, once the
steam function is activated (steam pressure switch
[18]) you get a larger quantity of steam, which red-
uces as you continue to iron. This is a normal process
and does not impair the function of the steam iron
system.
There's not enough pressure when steam is
applied.
The holes on the sole of the iron are clogged or the
steam generator is empty. Clean the holes after letting
the iron cool off, using a soft cloth.
Refill the steam generator with water.
If the problem continues, please contact our Leifheit-
Customer Service Centre.
The iron fails to emit any steam.
Check that all switches are switched on. Make sure the
steam generator contains sufficient water.
If the problem continues, please contact our Leifheit-
Customer Service Centre.
Shortening the waiting period before beginning
with the ironing (reducing the heating-up
period for the pressure steam).
Fill the tank with hot water (approx.1 l). After a short
while, you can start to iron using the steam ironing
function.
This service is free of charge during the manufac-
turer's guarantee period. You will then receive a
new or repaired device at no additional cost. It is the
manufacturer's choice to send a new device or receive
repairs.
No liability for possible damages is accepted if the
device is used for any other but its intended purpose,
or operated wrong or improperly during the manufac-
turer's guarantee period.
After the expiry of the manufacturer's guarantee
period, you will also be able to have a defective
device picked up for repairs by customer service.
However, transport and repairs are then subject to
costs. (Please coordinate with customer service in
advance by telephone).
Additionally, the hotline will be able to offer more tips
on ironing and recommendations and will also provide
remote diagnosis for possible problems.
