Limescale removal
The kettle should be descaled from time to
time using citric or tartaric acid. First fill the
appliance with the maximum premitted
amount of water and bring it to the boil.
Dissolve 2 teaspoonfuls of either acid in half
of the boiled water in a separate vessel.
Pour the solution into the water kettle and
allow it to act for about 15 minutes, but do
not boil it.
Then swill the kettle out several times with
clear cold water and finally boil maximum
fill with clear water and throw it away.
Model 859 with anti-scale filter:
The descaling solution can also be used to
descale the anti-scale filter. Put sufficient
descaling solution into a separate receptacle
and soak the filter in it for several minutes,
until the scale particles have been dissolved
out of the filter pores. Then rinse the filter
thoroughly in clear water.
Disposal
The packaging comprises exclusively
environmentally-friendly materials which
should be disposed of according to the local
recycling arrangements.
Disposal methods for the appliance itself
can be found by enquiry at the appropriate
department of the local authority.
