6) Prior to bolt-up, there must be clearance between the
centralisation bolts and the sleeve to allow for the clamp bands
to be drawn in. Unwind the centralisation bolts so there is a small
gap (about 5mm) between the bolt cap and the sleeve (See Fig 3).
7) Commence bolt-up on the flange adaptor clamp bands.
Working round each clamp band in sequence, evenly tighten each
of the three clamp band bolts giving each nut one or two turns
at a time to draw the clamp bands towards the pipe (See Fig 4).
Continue to unwind the centralisation bolts to ensure that
they are not in contact with the flange adaptor body.
8) A Positive Stop is completed when bolt lugs of clamp bands
are all in contact with each other (See Fig 5).
Installation of AquaFast Flange Adaptor
to an adjoining Flange:
9) Align the AquaFast flange and the mating flange.
10) Fit a flange gasket between the 2 mating flanges
(Flange Gaskets NOT supplied, Viking Johnson recommend
the use of an Inside Bolt Circle – IBC - gasket) and ensure
it is placed over the raised face of the AquaFast flange. (See Fig 6)
11) Secure and torque up the fasteners using standard
bolting procedures.
12) Use the centralisation bolts to ensure the clamp band
is concentric to the sleeve of the AquaFast coupling.
