OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE: Read operator's manual.
INTENDED USE
This product is intended for domestic, dethatching,
scarifying of lawn. This appliance is not intended for
dethatching on hard materials such steel rod, stones
and other hard materials which exceeds its cutting
capacity and will damage the tines.
WARNING: To avoid injury from
unexpected starting or electrical shock,
during assembly or adjustment, do not plug
the power cord into a source of power.
ASSEMBLY
1. ASSEMBLING HANDLES
INSTALLING THE LOWER HANDLE
1) Insert the lower handle into the housing hole.
(See Fig. A1)
2) Align the two holes on the handle and the
housing. Use the supplied screw to fasten the
lower handle to the housing. (See Fig. A2)
INSTALLING THE UPPER HANDLE
1) Position the upper handle to make the holes line
up with the lower handle holes.
2) Align the square holes in lower handle with the
upper handle.

3) Insert the supplied hex bolt (a) through the holes
from the inside of the handle bar. (See Fig. A3)
4) Thread the handle knob (7) onto the hex bolt to
tighten securely into place.
Note: Install the extension cord retainer to upper
handle with wire side before installing the upper
handle with lower handle.
2. ASSEMBLING THE GRASS COLLECTION
BAG
Lift up the back cover first and hang up the grass
collection bag (13) onto the dethatcher. (See Fig. B)
3. EXTENSION CORD RETAINER (See Fig. C)
After securing the extension cord, use the extension
cord retainer to prevent the extension cord from
disconnecting from the power cord which the tool is
in use. Attach cord retainer to handle.
4. ADJUSTING THE DETHATCHING DEPTH
(See Fig. D1, D2)
WARNING: Before you adjust the
dethatching depth, turn off the power,
unplug the tool and ensure the motor has
stopped.
1) The dethatching depth is adjusted by turning the
adjust knob. You can choose from three different
depth settings by pulling out and turning adjust
knob.
2) When setting "1" , the high setting is locked in.
The dethatching depth is approx. 3mm above

the ground. Select depth setting "1" when
transporting the dethatcher.
3) When setting "2" , the middle setting is locked in.
The dethatcher depth is approx. -3mm.
4) When setting "3" , the low setting is locked in. The
dethatcher depth is approx -9mm.
WARNING: The adjust knob must be
firmly locked into place! At the beginning
it is best to select depth setting "1" at the
start. You can then switch to setting "2" when
the dethatcher tines have become worn.
OPERATION
1. STARTING AND STOPPING (SEE Fig. E)
To start:
1) Plug the dethatcher into an approved outdoor
extension cord.
2) First press and hold the safety lock-out button.
And then pull the operating bail handle to the
handle bar to operate.
To stop:
Release the operating bail handle.
2. REPLACE THE DETHATCHER WHEEL
Note: If the dethatcher wheel is wear and tear,
replace it. The new individual dethatcher wheel is
sold separately.
1) Disconnect the dethatcher from the power
source. Allow sufficient time for moving parts to
totally stop.
2) Turn the dethatcher over.
3) Use the supplied wrench to loosen the two screw
nuts. (See Fig. F1)
4) Take out of the plastic cover. (See Fig. F2)
5) Lift up and pull the worn or broken dethatcher
wheel out of the machine. (See Fig. F3)
6) Replace with new ones.
3. REPLACE THE TINES
If the tines are broken/missing, then follow steps
below to replace.
1) Use a hex key wrench to take out two screws and
remove plate covering; (See Fig. F2, F3)
2) Take out the screw inside the tine reel; (See Fig.
G1)
3) Remove the bearing and then bushing; (See Fig.
G2)
4) Slide spring wheels off the reel until the desired
spring replacement is reached; (See Fig. G3)
5) Remove the spring wheel that needs
replacement; (See Fig. G4)
6) Place new spring into the wheel, pay attention to
keep the same direction with other spring. (See
Fig. G5)
7) Assemble the rest of the spring wheels taken out
before, pay attention to the location of shaft and
wheels; (See Fig. G6)
8) Assemble the bushing and then bearing, and re-
tighten the screw; (See Fig. G7)
9) Assemble the wheel to the unit. (See Fig. G8)
