DESCRIPTION
The L1C underwater light is a heavy-duty submersible light for
illuminating fountains, reflecting pools, and ponds. The light
features a stainless-steel case, a cast brass rock guard, and a 250-
watt, high-output tungsten halogen lamp. The low-profile design
of the L1C enables it to be placed in water as shallow as 6 inches.
The L1C includes a swivel base, which allows easy placement of
the light in a pond or fountain.
SAFETY GUIDELINES
To reduce the risk of electrical shock, connect the light to a
properly grounded, grounding-type receptacle. Never remove or
disable the grounding pin of the cord plug.

The National Electric Code and many local building codes require
the use of a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) on the branch
circuit supplying fountain equipment rated above 15 volts.
WARNING: ThIs LIGhT Is dEsIGNEd FoR submERGEd usE
oNLy. do not use this light out of the water because excessive
heat may result in burns or fire.
Always disconnect the electrical power and remove the light from
the water before attempting any maintenance or lamp replacement.
This light is intended to be placed in fountains, waterfalls, and ponds.
The light has not been approved for swimming pool or spa use.
To avoid shock or injury do not use this light with extension cords.
Always disconnect power to the light when installing, relocating,
or handling the light.
Adhere to the guidelines of the National Electric Code (NEC) or
Canadian Electric Code (CEC) and any other national, state, and
local electric, plumbing, and building codes for ALL installations.
Check with the appropriate agencies or a water systems
professional for information. The installation of this product must
be in accordance with applicable regulations.
ASSEMBLY
Refer to Figure 1 and the following steps to assemble the light:
1. Attach the stainless steel brackets (2) to the base (4) using
the included bolts (3). Install the brackets so that they slope
outward from the base, and with the rounded edge of the
bracket facing upward.
2. Attach the light to the brackets (2) with the included bolts (1)
using the holes threaded into the rock guard (5).
3. Tilt the light to the desired angle and then tighten the upper
bolts. CAuTIoN: Tightening the bolts excessively will damage
the base and void the warranty.
INSTALLATION AND OPERATION
1. Place the light in the desired location where it will be
completely submerged.
2. Connect the light to a properly grounded 115-volt power source
that is protected by a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI).
3. In some advanced installations it may be necessary to splice
power cables underwater. In these installations you must use
an approved underwater junction box. use only a junction box
approved for the application. Read and follow all instructions
provided with the junction box.
MAINTENANCE
LAmP REPLACEmENT:
1. disconnect power to the light and remove the light from the water.
2. Remove the four bolts securing the rock guard to the case. use
penetrating oil on the bolts if they are difficult to remove. Remove
the rock guard and lens.
3. double-check to ensure that the power to the light is off, then
remove the old lamp from the socket. Inspect the lamp socket and
remove any rust or corrosion.
