NON-CONTACT AC VOLTAGE DETECTOR MODE
o The user's hand is insulated from the voltage tester with a glove
o The conductor is partially buried or in a grounded metal conduit
o The magnetic field being created by the voltage source is being
blocked or interfered with
o The frequency of the voltage being detected is not a perfect sine wave
and distorted
o The tester is outside of the operating specifications
(see Specifications section below)
The detector may detect at different voltage thresholds under
different conditions or may not detect voltage at all unless
the following conditions are met:
o The user is holding the body of the voltage tester with a bare hand
o The user is standing on or connected to earth ground
o The air humidity is nominal (50% relative humidity – non-condensing)
o The voltage tester is held stationary
Operation:
Non-Contact (AC) Voltage (NCV) Detector Mode
1. Press and hold the POWER button to turn the voltage tester on. The voltage
2. Briefly press the MODE button to switch to the NCV mode. The NCV indicator
will be displayed on the LCD screen. The NCV detector tip will illuminate green
"clicking" sounds. This is normal.
3. Hold the NCV detector tip close to the AC voltage source.
4. If AC voltage within the specified detection range is present, the NCV
detector tip will begin flashing red and the beeper will beep rapidly
Note: When the voltage tester is in the NCV mode and it is detecting AC voltage,
the tester will NOT display the numeric AC voltage level. The NCV only detects
the presence of voltage. It does not measure the voltage level.

Operation
CONTINUITY TEST Mode
WARNING:
Never test continuity on a live circuit.
1. Press and hold the POWER button to turn the voltage tester on.
2. Press the MODE button once. The tester will enter the NCV or
Non-Contact Voltage (NCV) Detector Mode.
3. Press the MODE button again and the voltage tester will enter the
Continuity Test mode. When in Continuity Test mode, the Continuity
symbol will be displayed on the LCD screen.
