Application
Pressure Balancing Valves are designed for use with hot water
supplied from pressurized storage heaters and offer the
highest temperature accuracy when used in this way.
Pressure Balancing Valves cannot be used in conjunction with
low-pressure storage heaters (displacement water heaters).
• 35 015 is delivered as 4-port configuration.
If you want to use this as a 3-port valve (shower only),
unscrew nut (A) and remove the connection nipple (B).
Insert disc (C) and seal (D) into nut (A) then re-attach to
valve, see Fig. [1].
• 35 016 and 35 033 for use with diverter.
Specification
• Concealed single handle pressure balancing valve for tub
and shower
• Integral service stops
• Integral check valves prevent cross flow
• Pressure balanced diaphragm cartridge automatically
adjusts to inlet pressure fluctuations
• Cartridge restricts hot water supply should the cold pressure
fail, to prevent scalding
• Flow pressure:
- min
- recommended
greater than 72.5 psi, fit pressure reducing valve
• Max. operating pressure
• Max. test pressure
• Flow rate at 45 psi flow pressure

• Temperature
- max. (hot water inlet)
- The handle rotation stop may be used to limit the maximum
temperature. The maximum temperature will be reached
when the handle is turned 270° in a counter-clockwise
direction.
• Back-to-back installation is possible by reversing the
pressure balancing cartridge.
(see back-to-back installation instructions)
• Water connection:
Rough-in installation
1. Prepare wall for rough-in valve.
2. Finished wall must be within dimensions shown on finish
wall template (E), see Fig. [2].
3. Finish wall template (E) must remain intact for finished wall
surface measurements and as a template for plastering
and / or tiling.
4. Use leveling indicator to align valve into proper position.
Align arrow with center marking on finish wall template to
mount valve in a level plane.

IMPORTANT

Shut off valves must not be installed in the outlet (mixed
water line) of this concealed Pressure Balancing Valve.
It is not necessary to remove the Pressure Balancing
Cartridge from the valve during normal soldering
connection.
When soldering CxC connections, do not use excessive
heat.
Do not use ½" PEX on the tube outlet in a 4 port
configuration. The result will be that water stacks and is
coming out of the shower head. ½" copper pipes should
be used. If necessary ¾" PEX should be used.
Check connections for leakage.
Flush pipes thoroughly!
Back-to-back installation
1. Identify valve with hot/cold reversed supply.
2. Remove the two screws (F) to remove the finish wall
template (E), see Fig. [3].
20 psi
3. The valve body is equipped with service stop valves (G),
20 – 72.5 psi
close the hot and cold water supplies by turning the screws
vertically. Otherwise shut off the supply at the nearest
source.
125 psi
4. Remove the screws (H), the adapter (J), the spacer (J1)
500 psi
(35 016 and 35 033 only), the stop ring (K) noting its
position, the four corner screws (L) and remove the valve
21 L/min or 5.5 gpm
cover (M) with the O-ring (N).
24 L/min or 6.4 gpm
22 L/min or 5.8 gpm
5. Pull the cartridge (O) straight out of the valve body. Rotate
17 L/min or 4.6 gpm
the cartridge (O) 180°. Place it into the valve body. Note
position of hot "H" and cold "C" markings on the cartridge:
"H" hot will now be on the right and "C" cold on the left. Make
180 °F
sure when sliding cartridge (O) into the body that the
cartridge fits into the positioning grooves (Q) of the body,
see Fig. [4].
When correctly engaged the cartridge will not rotate.
Take care not to damage inlet O-ring (P).
6. Put the O-ring (N) on the valve cover (M). Make sure the
cold - RH
surface of the valve cover (on which the O-ring will sit), and
the O-ring (N) are both clean, see Fig. [3].
hot - LH
7. Seat the valve cover (M) on the body with the stop post (M1)
facing up. Do not pinch the O-ring (N). The assembly should
fit together with a minimum of pressing force. Install the
cover screws (L). Tighten lightly in a diagonal pattern, then
tighten firmly.
8. Close the valve by turning the cartridge stem clockwise.
Position the stop ring (K) as shown in Fig. [5] on the stem.
9. Open service stops valves (G) by turning the screws
horizontally. Otherwise open the supply at the nearest
source, see Fig. [3].
