This installation guide provides basic instructions
for installing the DAP-2553 Wireless N Dual Band
PoE Access Point on your network. For additional
information about how to use the Access Point,
please see the datasheet and user manual from
the D-Link support website.

based operating system, and an Ethernet
adapter installed

NOTE no PSU supplied. To power the units use
an D-Link PoE switch or the D-Link DPE-101GI
PoE injector.

Physical Installation

Connect the AP to Your Network

PoE Switch
A. Connect an external Power-over-Ethernet
(PoE) switch to the LAN(PoE) port to
power on access point.
B. Connect PC to the switch and you can
configure access point through web UI.
C. Open a web browser and go to https://IP
address (default is https://192.168.0.50).
Enter admin as your username and leave
the password blank to log into the web UI.
Now you can configure the AP via web UI.
D. Purchase separately a DPE-101GI PoE
injector if you need to connect the Access
Point without a PoE Switch.
