Function
An unbalanced load is the difference between the nominal AC power
on the three mains phases.
Energy suppliers and network operators specify a max. permissible
unbalanced load for the installation of inverters on different phases of
the supply network.
PLATINUM PhaseBalancer for single-phase inverters of the
PLATINUM S and TL range ensure that the max. permissible
unbalanced load is not exceeded in the following cases:
Î
Failure of an inverter module
Î
different AC powers occurring in dependence of the load
Prerequisite:
Î
three single-phase PLATINUM inverters, distributed across three
phases
Î
Communication connection between the three PLATINUM
inverters
If the unbalanced load limit value is exceeded, the PhaseBalancer
limits the AC output only after the reaction time has expired.
The max. permissible performance (unbalanced load) and the reaction
time can be set according to the specifications of the network
operator (see 6.1 Change settings).
The PhaseBalancer function already exists in PLATINUM inverters of
the PLATINUM S and TL type series. To monitor and control the
inverters, it is necessary to connect the inverters to each other via the
RS 232 interface. The connection cable that is included in delivery is
provided for this purpose.
