11. RECOMMENDATIONS

Essential recommendations:
● Remember, always stop the motor before changing the position of the
selector valve.
● Never switch the pump unit for another one with a higher flow rate.
● Do not start the motor if it has been affected by flood water. Remove it
and take it to your local workshop to have it dried out.
Operations to be carried out on a weekly basis:
1. Clean skimmer baskets.
2. Clean the pre-filter basket with a jet of water, avoiding impacts. Ensure
you replace the basket in the correct position.
3. Brush walls.
4. Clean bottom.
5. Clean the filter, even if the pressure gauge reading is below 1.0.
6. Check the pH of the water and adjust if necessary.
7. Check the residual level of disinfectant and adjust if necessary.
8. Add anti-algae agent.

Winterising your pool:
At the end of the season, when the water temperature falls, the amount of
maintenance products used and the operating times of the filtration equipment
can be reduced considerably whilst still maintaining a clean pool throughout
the winter season.
If the filtration system is not going to be used in winter, you should do the
following:
1. Add a winter product to the pool to prevent the formation of scale on the
walls of the pool, which can make cleaning inside the pool at the beginning of
the next season a very difficult task.
2. Disconnect. Turn off the thermal relay to disconnect the power from the
motor.
3. Remove the motor or the pump unit from its housing and store it in a dry
place indoors. After removing the motor, place a floating object in the water
such as a barrel half-filled with sand or gravel (never water) so that it stays
semi-submerged. In the winter months this object will break up any ice that
forms, preventing damage to the walls.
All the intake collector valves should be closed. If the system has a return
valve, the selector valve should be positioned in the drain position and the
return valve should be left open. The water level will decrease to the return
level and the pool with therefore never overflow in the event of heavy rainfall.

Check the power supply.
Check the fuses.
Check the thermal relay.
Check the voltage on the motor terminals.
Check that the motor rotates freely. You can release it if required using a
screwdriver in the end of the motor shaft.
Check that the seals on the suction pipe and the connectors on the pump
are watertight. The pump cannot prime if it takes in air.
Counterslope. The suction pipe runs higher than the pump's intake.
The correct level of suction head is essential.
Never exceed 4 mwc without a check valve or 7 mwc with a check valve.
The motor rotates in the wrong direction (three-phase motor).
Swap 2 phase wires.
The check valve is faulty. The correct level of suction head is essential.
The diameter of the suction pipe is too small.
Clean the fan and check valve.
The motor does not reach the correct speed due to a weak voltage
supply. If the power supply cable is particularly long, the section of the
cable should be increased.
No protection or incorrect calibration.
Incorrect motor connection.
Review the maintenance instructions.
The pool cleaner's hose has trapped air or is taking in air.
Prime and connect well. Check if the hose is split and replace if necessary.
REASON
High pH.
Low pH.
Insufficient chemicals.
Insufficient filtration time.
