INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Attach filter top cap to storage tank valve
on opening marked "IN". Be sure there is a shut-
off valve between filter and tank. Attach hose
and nozzle to filter opening
CAUTION: Do not tighten filter cap using the element for
leverage. Apply wrench to flat surfaces in center part of
filter cap to tighten or remove. See illustration.
When installing the element, apply a coating of oil to
the rubber gasket. Element should be hand tightened
only. Over tightening of the element will result in difficulty
in removal at a later date. When assembly is complete,
check for leaks.
Change filter on a semi-annual basis or when flow is
restricted.
NOTE: This filter is rated for 50 psi pressure. If the
fuel system is prone to violent pressure surges (water
hammers, etc.), a pressure cushion device should be
installed. A vertical capped pipe installed in the line near
the filter so that it traps a pocket of air will serve this
function. This is not necessary unless pressure surges
above 50 psi occur.
INSTRUCCIONES DE INSTALACION
Conectar la tapa superior del filtro a la válvula del
tanque de almacenamiento, en la abertura marcada "IN".
Asegurarse que la válvula de corte se encuentre entre
el filtro y el tanque. Conectar la manguera y la boquilla
a la abertura de filtro marcada "OUT". PRECAUCION:
No apretar la tapa del filtro apoyándose en el elemento.
Colocar la llave de tuercas en las superficies planas de la
parte central de la tapa del filtro para apretarla o quitarla.
Ver la ilustración.
Al instalar el elemento, aplicar una capa de aceite a
la empaquetadura de caucho. Atornillar el filtro bien firme
con la mano. Si se aprieta el elemento excesivamente,
será difícil quitar la caja en el futuro. Al terminar el
armado, buscar fugas.
Cambiar el filtro cada seis meses o si se restringe el
caudal.
NOTA: Este filtro tiene una capacidad nominal de
presión de 50 psi. Si el sistema de combustible sufre
variaciones abruptas de presión (martillos hidráulicos,
etc.), se debe instalar un dispositivo amortiguador de
presión. Un tubo vertical tapado que se instala en la
línea cerca del filtro de modo que atrape una bolsa de
aire cumple esta función. Esto no es necesario a menos
que se produzcan variaciones transitorias de presión de
más de 50 psi.
