CO AMBIENT MEASUREMENT PROBE
OVERVIEW
This device is an accessory developed to extend the combustion
analyzer functions for the measurement of the CO value which may
be inside a room where an heat generator is active (burner or gas
cooker).
The probe measures the value simultaneously to the combustion
analysis; the value is printed with the analysis and indicated as CO
amb ext value.
This accessory is provided with a magnetic support.
CONNECTION TO THE ANALYZER
The device is connected to the serial port of the combustion analyzer
through a cable provided with a MiniDin 8 poles connector (A of
Fig. 1).
OPERATION MODE
Switch on the combustion analyzer.
Insert,
in
"Analysis
configuration=>measurement
"Print=>measurement list" the measure "CO amb ext", selecting it
among the list of the possible measurements:
- Enter in the parameter "Analysis configuration" and select
"Measures list".
Add the parameter "CO amb ext", pushing the key in the upper left
corner of the screen (which, on the screen, it refers to the
symbol).
Use the keys ˄ / ˅ to select the parameter "CO amb ext" and
press the "OK" key to confirm.
- Repeat the procedure, above descripted, to add the measure "CO
amb ext" also in the measures list to be printed (access to the
"Print " menu and select the sub-menu "Measures list").
Connect the CO probe to the serial port of the combustion analyzer.
If the probe has not been connected, on the analysis screen of the
instrument, the measure "CO amb ext" will indicate "absent"; same
thing for the printing and the memorization.
The probe, as soon as connected, emits a beep signal every 2s, to
indicate that the zero must be executed pressing the special button
on the probe.
In this case, on the analysis screen of the instrument, the "CO amb
ext" measure indicates "-----" (the dashes indicate that the zero of
the probe has not been carried out.
Execute the zero keeping pressed, for at least 3 seconds, the button
"zero" on the probe.
WARNING!
- Execute the zero of the probe in a clean air environment
without polluting gases and anyway before entering the room
where the analysis will take place.
Reset done:
The CO concentration is below 5 ppm.
The probe emits a long beep.
The analysis screen of the instrument shows
the value 0.0 in correspondence of the
measure "CO amb ext".
Reset NOT done:
The CO concentration is more than 5 ppm.
The
consecutive beeps).
The analysis screen of the instrument keeps
indicating "-----" in correspondence of the
measure "CO amb ext".
When the zero procedure is done, enter the room keeping in hand
the probe or positioning it where it's needed according to the
prescriptions of the current standard.
Note: to print the measure, the latter must be on the printing list
of the analyses.
