5) Disconnect the charger from the mains socket.
6) Disconnect the external battery charger connector (E) from the Y-shaped cable
connector (D).
7) Reconnect the solar panel connector (C) to the Y-shaped cable connector (D).
3. USE AND MAINTENANCE
3.1. CHARGING THE BATTERY
After installing and commissioning the Oximo 40 DC RTS kit (Oximo 40 WF RTS motor, Somfy battery, Somfy solar panel), the battery
charges with electrical energy via the solar panel.
The electrical energy transmitted by the solar panel is stored by the battery to supply the Oximo 40 WF RTS motor.
3.2. PROTECTING THE BATTERY AGAINST EXCESSIVE DISCHARGE.
Each time the motor receives an up or down command, it checks the battery voltage
to ensure it is not discharged below 10 V.
If the battery voltage is above 11.5 V, the motor is operating normally.
If the voltage is below 11.5 V and above 10 V:
When the Up button is pressed, the roller shutter stops briefly when rising.
•
When the Down or my, button is pressed, the roller shutter does not perform
•
the requested operation but performs two brief movements in the same
direction.
These actions indicate a low battery level.
•
If the voltage is below 10 V, the roller shutter does not move.
Thanks to the solar panel, the battery voltage will increase again to 12 V and the
motor will resume normal operation.
However, there is an alternative solution to recharge the battery using the Somfy-
compatible external battery charger.
3.3. MAINTENANCE
The service life of the Oximo WireFree™ Battery is approximately 8 years (based on an average operating temperature of 20°C).
If the roller shutter behaves abnormally as described in the previous section and the motor does not return to normal operation after a sunny
period, there has probably been a major discharge from the Oximo WireFree™ battery. In this instance, the Oximo WireFree™ battery needs
to be charged using the Somfy-compatible external battery by a motorisation and home automation professional.
Any use of another battery charger is prohibited.
If this occurs frequently, the battery either needs to be replaced or the position of the solar panel changed by a motorisation and home
automation professional.
