Charging Batteries
ATTENTION: To prolong the life of the batteries and to provide optimum machine
performance ONLY recharges the batteries after a total of 30 minutes of use or more. Do
not leave batteries discharged for lengthy periods.
FOR SAFETY: Wear protective gloves and eye protection when handling batteries and
battery cables. Avoid contact with battery acid.
The following charging instructions are intended for battery chargers supplied with the
machine. Only use a battery charges supplied with the machine. Only use a battery charger
with the following specifications to prevent battery damage.
Battery Charger Specifications:
• Output Voltage-36 Volts
• Output Current-20 AMPS maximum
• Automatic Shutoff Circuit
• For deep cycle battery charging
For battery charger operating instructions, refer to the battery charger manual supplied
with charger.
1. Transport machine to a flat, dry surface in a well- ventilated area for charging.
2. Turn all switches to the OFF position
3. Open battery compartment (figure 2).
4. Before charging Wet-Acid batteries, check the electrolyte level in each battery cell. This
step is not required for AGM batteries.
The electrolyte level should slightly cover the battery plates. Add distilled water as needed. DO
NOT OVERFILL, the fluid may expand and overflow while charging. Replace cell caps before
charging
5. Connect Anderson plug from charger to battery plug.
6. Connect the charger's AC power supply cord to a property grounded receptacle.
7. Leave hood off while you are charging the batteries.
8. The charger will automatically begin charging.
9. The charging is fully automatic and will turn off once the batteries are fully charged.
10. After charging, check the electrolyte level again (For Wet-Acid batteries only). The level
should be approximately 1cm from the bottom of the fill-port. Add distilled water if
needed. DO NOT OVERFILL.
