3. Description

3.1. Instrument
The instrument is composed of a telescope with compensator,
horizontal circle, horizontal drive and base plate. To ensure the
instrument works properly, the compensator adopts the v-shape
suspension tape and magnetic damper. Each time before using the
instrument, check the compensator to ensure it works properly to
prevent mistakes.
3.2. Leveling staff
The telescope of the AP-100 series has an erect image. Leveling
staffs with erect numbering should be used.
4. Instruction for use
4.1. Unpacking and setting up
When setting up the tripod, the three legs must be pushed firmly
into the ground. The tripod head should be as horizontal as possible
and the height should be such that the telescope eyepiece will be
comfortably at the observer's eye level. With a telescopic tripod,
check that the clamps are tight. Attach the instrument to the tripod
head with the tripod fixing screw.
For faster leveling, a dome head tripod can be used.
To level up the instrument, turn the foot screws until the circular
bubble is in the center of the circle. The line of sight is then
automatically leveled.
4.2. Check the compensator
4.2.1. When the bubble lies in the center, align to a target
(about 75m from the instrument)
4.2.2. Turn the foot screws until the bubble is 1/4 away from
its center.
Observe the target, if the target image "swings smoothly away and
then floats gently back" to its original position, the observer is then
