Attention!
The surface beneath the lamination pattern must be plane.
Create a contoured edge on the socket by applying Plastilin around the
lamination pattern. Be careful not to damage the edges of the lamination
pattern (Fig. 3).
Pull on a PVA bag and laminate the forearm shell in the usual manner.
Once the lamination has hardened, sand down the visible edge of the
lamination pattern so that it is flush (Fig. 4) with the socket.
Press in the two cut-outs in the middle of the lamination pattern with a
screwdriver or similar tool (Fig. 5) and remove the lamination pattern with
a pair of pliers (Fig. 6).
Connect the two electrode cables and the 4-pole cable from the terminal
device to the battery receptacle (Fig. 7). Set the battery receptacle into
the socket in such a way that the engaging lever is positioned proximally.
Insert the battery receptacle into the socket (Fig.8) and then press into
the socket in place so that it is flush.
Attach the battery receptacle to the socket by screwing in both Allen Head
bolts with a SW 1.5 mm Allen Wrench (Fig. 9).
Attention!
The battery receptacle must not be glued into the socket!
6.2 Installation into the forearm of an Ottobock elbow component
(Fig. 10 – Fig. 11)
Use the included pattern (757Z189=1/757Z194=1) to determine the posi-
tion of the battery receptacle.
Attention!
When using an elbow component with AFB (Automatic Forearm
Balance) in conjunction with an electric wrist rotator, allow a mi-
nimum distance of 103 mm between the elbow joint and battery
receptacle to avoid possible interference (Fig. 10).
Drill four holes inside the frame of the pattern and saw out the space for
the battery receptacle (Fig. 11).
