Before doing any maintenance work, disconnect the
appliance from the electricity (by pulling out the plug or
turning off the general switch in the main cabinet).
WARNING: do not damage the refrigeration circuit.
Defrost
The ventilated evaporator has an automatic defrosting function:
cyclically the ice formed is thawed and the resulting water
channelled to an external reservoir where it is automatically
evaporated. Electronic controller will manage time between
defrosts, if needed a manual defrost can be performed pressing
the adequate controller command (see controller data sheet).
If your appliance is fitted with a static evaporator, defrost is a
manual function that should be performed on a regular basis to
avoid frost build up and efficiency loss. To defrost, disconnect the
appliance from power supply and leave the door open until all the
frost has melted. Clean and allow to dry.
Make sure not to use pointed metal objects as this could result in
piercing the refrigeration circuits, causing irreparable damage to
the appliance. To speed up defrosting, one or more pots of warm
water can be placed inside the appliance.
