Important information
You have just purchased a MOTTEZ cycle carrier, a product designed and manufactured in France,Erquinghem−lys (59).
Thank you for choosing our product, we hope you will be completely satisfied with it.
Here are some essential instructions for mounting and using your cycle carrier under the best possibleconditions.
Incorrect installation or use may have dangerous consequences for you and other road users.This list is not
exhaustive and does not mean that you should not apply the necessary degree of care andcommonsense.
− This cycle carrier is designed for men´ s , women´ s and children´ s mountain bikes, hybrid bikes, BMX bikes,racing
bikes, city bikes, fitness bikes and outdoor bikes.
− The empty weight of this rear−mounted cycle carrier is 5 kg / The maximum load for this rear−mountedcycle
carrier is 15 kg / 1 bicycle.
− Always check the maximum static load S permissible on the tow bar
− The load must be correctly distributed across the rear−mounted cycle carrier and the centre ofgravity of the
load kept as low as possible, without a risk of it coming into contact with the ground, inparticular when driving
over obstacles (speed bumps).
− Loads protruding beyond the extremities of the rear−mounted cycle carrier must comply with theapplicable
regulations, and must be properly attached.
− Bicycle must be suitably fixed using the suitable straps and the red general tightening strap.
− You must check that the load is secured and that the rear−mounted cycle carrier´ s mountings aretightened after
loading and regularly during your journey.
− We recommend removing the rear−mounted cycle carrier after use.
− It is essential to correctly tighten the fixing mechanisms and to check them regularly during your journey.
− It is important to attach your load correctly and securely.
− It is important to properly maintain your rear−mounted cycle carrier.
− Keep these instructions for future reference and ensure that all other users of the rear−mounted cyclecarrier
are aware of their contents.
− It is important to ensure that your lights and indicators are can be seen clearly. Your vehicle´ s numberplate
and lights must be visible. Ensure that your number plate complies with the applicable regulations.
− The cycle carrier must not be used to transport items other than bicycles.
− Only use straps that are in a perfect condition.

cyclecarrier is used: i.e. compliance with the width and length of the carrier.

− Check that none of the unit´ s metal parts come into contact with your vehicle´ s bodywork, as they maydamage it.
Adapt your driving:
− Your vehicle´ s handling will be affected by the installation of a rear−mounted cycle carrier, particularlywhen
it is carrying a load (sensitivity to lateral wind, handling on bends and under braking).You must adapt your
driving to take account of these changes. We recommend reducing your speed,particularly on bends and allowing for
increases in braking distances.
− Your vehicle will be longer and wider, allow for this when manoeuvring.
− It is vital to adapt your speed (110 km/h maximum).
− Do not use off road.
You alone will be responsible should you use the cycle carrier incorrectly or fail to take note of these
recommendations.
When mounting it for the first time, you must feel some resistance to ensure optimum tightening.
Put the safety−pin C in place.
The cycle carrier is pre−adjusted at our factory. You must imperatively carefully carry out
the following step to adjust it to your vehicle.
Positions 4 and 5 will ensure you a better tightening.
Ladies" and "suspension frame" bicycles
Depending on the specific nature of your bicycle's frame, it may not be possible to position it
horizontally but this in no way affects the effectiveness of the fixing.
Pass the general tightening strap B through the wheels, it ensures that the bicycle is held
firmly.
−Fold up the straps so that they do not flutter in the wind or get in the way when you are using
the cycle carrier
