General information

This attractive Royal Dutch Pancake Maker
is suitable for cooking Dutch pancakes.
The appliance has a hotplate with 14 pits
and an integrated electronic heating
element.
Operation and
controls
See figure 1.
The appliance consists of the following:
1 Hotplate with 14 pits
2 Housing
3 Temperature indicator light
4 Power cord and plug

Before using for the first time

1 Remove all the packaging materials
and stickers from the appliance.
2 Clean the appliance and all the
accessories (see 'Maintenance and
cleaning').
3 Set up the appliance and turn it on (see

'Turning the appliance on and off').

4 Allow the hotplate to become hot.
The appliance may emit a little smoke
and a characteristic smell when you
turn it on for the first time. This is
normal and will soon stop. Make sure
the appliance has sufficient ventilation.
5 Remove the plug from the plug socket.
6 Allow the appliance to cool down.
Turning the appliance on and
off
1 Put the appliance on a flat, stable
surface.
2 Insert the plug into the plug socket. The
indicator light will be lit and the
appliance will become warm. Once the
indicator light goes out, the hotplate is
at the correct temperature.
3 Remove the plug from the plug socket
once you have finished.
Cooking Dutch pancakes
Once the hotplate is at the correct
temperature and the ingredients have been
prepared (see 'Cooking tips'), you can start
to cook the Dutch pancakes.
Do not use sharp implements on the
hotplate, such as metal spatulas, knives
and forks. These may damage the non-
stick coating.
1 Apply a small quantity of oil or butter
into every pit.
2 Use a spoon or a special pouring jar for
Dutch pancake batter to pour the batter
into the pits in the hotplate. Make sure
each pit is filled to the brim.
3 Cook the Dutch pancakes until the
underside turns brown.
4 Turn the Dutch pancakes over just
before the batter solidifies completely.
5 The Dutch pancakes are ready when
both sides are nice and brown. Remove
them from the pits and serve them with
icing sugar.
Maintenance
and cleaning
• Never move the appliance whilst it is
switched on or is still hot. Turn off the
appliance and wait until it has cooled
down before moving it.
