duct. The more familiar you are with this product, the better

putting the device into operation. They contain important
information and notes which must be observed when ope-
rating the device.

General notes
The slip ring box is exclusively provided for the power supply
of the VCL motors. The motor-powered slip ring box guaran-
tees constant rotation of the VCL motors.
The operator has to ensure proper electrical installation,
mounting as well as operation and maintenance.
Electrical installation as well as service works on the elec-
trical installation must only be carried out by an electrician
in accordance with the electrical regulations.
The slip ring box accommodates electronic com-
ponents, which may be damaged by electrostatic
discharge when being touched. For this reason, all
measures for prevention of electrostatic discharge have to be
implemented, e.g. by touching a grounded object (machine
frame or PE contact of a socket outlet, etc.) prior to opening
the device.
Dispose of the worn-out slip ring box in accordance with the
conventional local provisions applicable to the disposal of
electronic devices and components.
MEMMINGER-IRO does not assume liability for any damage
and malfunctions arising from incorrect operation or improper
treatment.
Only use original spare parts and accessories by MEMMIN-
GER-IRO.

Function
The power to the revolving VCL fans is supplied by the slip
ring box. The slip ring box is installed on the center post of
the circular knitting machine. If no center post is available,
the slip ring box is fi tted to the feeder ring by means of box
support rods.
1 to 4 VCL fans can be located into the plug-in holes of the
slip ring box and secured. Unused plug-in holes are sealed
by means of the enclosed plug caps.

The electrical power connection to the slip ring box is realized
via a cable connector.This cable connector is provided with
a detachable plug-in connection with safety bracket. The
fans are connected at the provided terminals in the slip ring
box. All metal parts of the slip ring box are grounded via the
PE connection.
When the VCL 4 support rod encounters resistance, the
overload protection will switch the slip ring box off. The
device is designed to consume minimal power, which means
that the slip ring box can rotate backwards. Please stop the
knitting machine to reactivate the preset direction of rotation
of the VCL 4.

A suffi cient cable length must be provided to be able to
adjust the fan support arm. The excess cable is routed
into the slip ring box.
After connection of the cables, close the cover of the slip
ring box.

The power supply of the slip ring box is provided
by the circular knitting machine after the main
switch. Observe that voltage must only be applied when
the machine is operating.
To guarantee protection against electrical shocks, the
plug-in connection must not be freely accessible.
The safety bracket of the plug-in connection must remain
closed during operation.
The plug-in connection may only be disconnected when
the power is off.
Prior to commissioning, the enclosure covers must be
closed.
