What means STC
The maximum potential power output of solar panels is given in Wp (Watt peak) and will be measured under
Standard Testing Conditions (STC). So you are able to compare different solar panels. The test requirements are a
ligth radiation of 1.000W/m² and a panel temperature of 25°C.
These conditions are not realistic because in operation the solar panel heats up with the result that the efficiency
decreases (ca. 0,4%/K). Also you find 1.000W/m² only close to the equator.
Open cirquit voltage
SUNLOAD solar panels have a voltage range between 10V and 30V (open cirquit). Even if the nominal voltage is
compatible to your device, the open ciquit voltage can damage your device. For the safe usage you should take
a voltage limiter or a SUNLOAD MultECon Charger to protect your equipment.
