Instructions for optical connection.
For the optical connection, a mono-mode optical fibre with SC/APC type connector will be used.
Remove the protective cover from the optical connector located inside the equipment, as well as the hood for the single-fibre cable's con-
nector.
Connect the cable to the equipment taking care when aligning the guide pins of both connectors, pressing the connector all the way.
Connection precautions.
Take extreme care when handling the unprotected connector points since small scratches, marks, impurities and/or dirt particles, oil, gre-
ase, sweat, etc., can significantly degrade the signal.
To clean the connector tips, rub gently (without applying pressure) with a lint-free lens cleaning swab moistened with additive-free isopropyl
alcohol. Before connecting, allow the alcohol to dry thoroughly.
Store connector covers and cable hoods for future removal/protection procedures.
Always place the protective covers on the connectors of equipment that is not connected to cables in order to avoid any chance of the laser
beam damaging eyes.
Where possible, avoid switching on the transmitter without it being connected to the fibre.
