8. INSPECTION, CLEANING AND
MAINTENANCE
8.1 General informatio

assemble the battery! The battery does
not contain internal parts that can be
repaired.

charging devices before starting any cleaning
and maintenance operations; see paragraph

tasks, protect the (+) and (-) contacts to avoid
causing accidental short circuits.

8.2 Checks

1. Inspect the wiring and check for slow and/
or damaged contacts, cracks, deformations,
leaks or damage of any other kind. If any
damage is found on the battery, it must be
replaced. Do not try to charge or use a dam-
aged battery. Do not touch the liquid from a
broken battery.
2. Check the battery's charge state regularly.
LiFePO4 batteries discharge slowly (approx-
imately 1% to 3% per month) when not in use
or when stored.
3. Replace the battery with a new one if any of
the following conditions are found:
• The battery operating time falls below 80%
of the initial operating time
• Battery charge time varies considerably
compared to normal

8.3 Cleaning

If necessary, clean the battery with a soft, dry
cloth. Never use any liquids, solvents or abrasive
materials to clean the battery.

8.4 Servicing

The battery does not require any particular main-
tenance. In the case of non-continuous use, make
sure that the battery is charged to more than 80%
of its capacity every three months, to preserve its
capacity and avoid reducing its service life.
