6.3 ANNUAL SERVICING / EVERY 500K OPERATIONS
Every 500,000 cycles the tool should be completely dismantled, and new components should be used where worn,
damaged or when recommended. All 'O' rings and seals should be renewed and lubricated with Molykote® 55M grease for
pneumatic sealing or Molykote® III for hydraulic sealing.
IMPORTANT - Safety Instructions are present in the tool instruction manual. The employer is responsible for ensuring
that tool maintenance instructions are given to the appropriate personnel. The operator should not be involved in
maintenance or repair of the tool unless properly trained.
The airline must be disconnected before any servicing or dismantling is attempted, unless specifically instructed otherwise.
It is recommended that any dismantling operation be carried out in clean conditions
6.4 DISMANTLING INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT – ENSURE THE MAINS POWER AND AIR SUPPLY TO THE MACHINE AND HYDRAULIC PUMP UNIT IS
SWITCHED OFF BEFORE DISMANTLING THE TOOL.
Instructions on installing and removing the module from the machine frame will be included in the Technical Manual
supplied with the machine. The Technical Manual will include full instructions on the dismantling, maintenance and
assembly of the tool.
Before Dismantling:
• Remove the module from the machine.
• Remove the nose equipment from the module as per the instructions in the Technical Manual supplied with the
machine.
• The potentially dangerous substances that could have deposited on the machine as a result of work processes must be
removed before maintenance.
For a complete service of the tool, we advise that you proceed with dismantling the tool in the order shown on pages 10
to 11. After dismantling the tool we recommend that you replace all seals.
Dismantling Instructions:
• Disengage pneumatic tube (Item 4) from elbow fitting (Item 3).
• Optional: unscrew elbow fitting (Item 3) from tool (Item 1).
• Unscrew M3 cap screw Item (12 x 2) with 2mm hex key.
• Carefully slide housing (Item 7) away from tool, this exposes spring (Item 9), set aside.
• Remove O-rings (Item 8) and (Item 10) away from inner sleeve (Item 6).
• Unscrew inner sleeve (Item 6) from barrel (Item 2). The tube guard (Item 5) will rotate too, separate when fully
disassembled.
• Disengage pneumatic tube (Item 4) from pneumatic connector (Item 11).
• Unscrew pneumatic connector (Item 11) from inner sleeve (Item 6).
• Assembly is the reverse of this procedure.
Assembly Instructions:
• Clean all the parts thoroughly. Inspect and replace any parts that are worn or damaged.
• Assembly is the reverse procedure for dismantling.
• Ensure that the seals are replaced in the correct orientation. Lubricate all seals and housings, with Molylithium Grease
(07992-00020).
All item numbers refer to the General Assembly and Part List in section 6.0.
6.5 PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT
• Assure conformity with applicable disposal regulations. Dispose all waste products at an approved waste facility or site
so as not to expose personnel and the environment to hazards.
