MAINTENANCE
WARNING:
When servicing, use only identical
replacement parts. Use of any other parts may create a
hazard or cause product damage. To ensure safety and
reliability, all repairs should be performed by a qualified
service technician.
WARNING:
To avoid serious personal injury, always
remove the battery pack from the product when cleaning
or performing any maintenance.
WARNING:
Blades are sharp. When handling the
blade assembly, wear non-slip, heavy-duty protective
gloves. Do not place your hand or fingers between blades
or in any position where they could get pinched or cut.
NEVER touch blades or service the unit with battery pack
installed.
CLEANING
◾
Use a soft brush to remove debris from all air intakes
and cutting blade.
◾
To remove pitch and other sticky residue, spray the
blades with resin solvent. Run the motor briefly so that
the solvent is evenly distributed.
◾
Wipe the surface with a dry cloth.
WARNING:
Avoid using solvents when cleaning
plastic parts. Most plastics are susceptible to damage
from various types of commercial solvents. Use clean
clothes to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.
All hedge trimmer service, other than the items listed in
these maintenance instructions, should be performed by
competent hedge trimmer service personnel.
SHARPENING THE BLADES
When cutting performance and behavior begin to
deteriorate, re-sharpen the blades. It is recommended
to have the blades re-sharpened by a qualified service
technician.
NOTICE:
Do not operate your hedge trimmer with dull or
damaged blades. This may cause overload and will give
unsatisfactory cutting results.
LUBRICATING THE BLADES (Fig. Q)
For best operation and longer blade life, lubricate the
hedge trimmer blade with light-weight machine oil before
and after each use.
1. Remove the battery pack from your hedge trimmer.

2. Lay the hedge trimmer on a flat surface. Apply some
light-weight machine oil along the edge of the top
blade.
NOTICE:
If you need to use the hedge trimmer for a long
time, it is recommended to take a break and remove the
battery to oil the blade.
NOTICE:
If the upper blades are aligned completely with
the lower ones, start the hedge trimmer and then stop it
to offset the blades before lubrication.
NOTICE:
Do not operate your hedge trimmer with dull or
damaged cutting blades. This may cause overload and
unsatisfactory cutting results.
TRANSMISSION GEARS LUBRICATION
For best operation and longer lifetime, lubricate the
transmission gears with a special grease (4-5 ml each
time) after every 50 hours operation.
The special grease should meet the following
requirements:
1. Belong to DIN51818: NLGI-2 cone penetration degree.
2. Composed of polyurea thickeners + synthetic
lubricating oil.
3. Excellent low-temperature startup, EP, mechanical
shearing, abrasion resistance and oxidative stability
properties.
4. Operation temperature must contain -40~180°C.
Remove the battery and the sealing bolts (Fig. R1, R2, R3).
NOTICE:
Use a 5 mm hex key (not included) to handle
sealing bolts 1 – 4, use the included hex key to remove
sealing bolt 5.
