If the appliance will not be used for a long period of time, the following operations should be
carried out:
- grind all the coffee beans until the product has been completely dispensed;
- turn the appliance off and disconnect the power supply;
- remove the hopper;
- clean the appliance as indicated in the chapter, "Cleaning and maintenance", and store it in
a non-dusty, non-humid place.
This product complies with Directive EU 2002/96/EC.
The crossed-out wheelie bin symbol on the appliance indicates
that the product, at the end of its service life, must be treated
separately from household waste and must therefore be
delivered to a waste sorting centre for electrical and electronic
equipment, or else returned to the dealer when a new and
equivalent appliance is purchased.
The user is responsible for taking the appliance, at the end of its service life, to the
appropriate collection facilities, under penalty of sanctions under current waste
legislation.
Appropriate waste sorting for the subsequent sending of the decommissioned
appliance for recycling, treatment, and environmentally sound disposal helps to avoid
potentially negative effects on the environment and human health, and promotes the
recycling of the materials of which the product is composed.
For more detailed information on available collection systems, contact your local
waste disposal service or the shop where the appliance was purchased. Products and
importers fulfil their responsibilities for recycling, treatment, and environmentally
sound disposal either directly or by participating in a collective system.
The packaging components must NOT be dispersed in the environment, but
rather disposed of in compliance with current regulations.
If the appliance is no longer to be used, it is advisable to make it unusable
by cutting the power cord at the point where it exits the appliance, before
delivering it to specialised disposal facilities.
