Special Safety Instructions for this Machine
•
Please do not immerse your scales in water.
•
The scales are designed for a maximum weight of 150 kg.
•
Please touch the scales only by the glass plate as the metal
components are not suitable for use as handles.
•
Caution! If the glass surface is moist or covered with
water droplets, please wipe the surface dry as there is a
danger of slipping.
•
If the scales are carried or not going to be used, please
store them only in a horizontal position.
First Use of the Machine
Battery Compartment (on the back of the scales)
•
The two batteries in the battery compartment were secured
in place for transport with a foil. This prolongs the life of the
batteries.
•
Please remove this foil to prepare the scales for initial use.
•
The balance was designed to indicate precisely the increase
in or the loss of weight.
•
Position the balance on a hard, fl at surface (avoid carpets).
Uneven fl oors lead to imprecise readings.
•
Switch on the scales by pressing lightly with your foot or
toes on the glass surface.
•
The scales and the display perform a self-test (8....). Shortly
afterwards the value „0,0" (kg) (0,0 lb., 0: 0 st) appears.

Use
Note: If the display shows „oL" (overload) or only 0.0 kg
(0.0 lb., 0: 0 st):
•
the weight is above 150 kg
•
the self-test was not completed; you stood on the glass
surface before the display showed 0,0 kg (0,0 lb.,
0: 0 st). The display goes off.
•
With the switch in the battery compartment you can select
between the settings "St", "lb." and "kg".
•
Step on the balance. Distribute your weight equally on the
balance and wait for the balance to calculate your weight.
•
The display fl ashes three times at fi rst and then your exact
weight is shown.
•
When you have got down from the scales they switch off
automatically after 6 seconds in order to prolong battery life.
Batteries
The batteries are two long-life lithium cells. If the letters "LO" ap-
pear in the display this means that the batteries need replacing
as follows:
•
Open the battery compartment on the back of the scales.
Press the silver releasing devices carefully towards the front
and take out the batteries.
•
Replace the batteries with two cells of type "CR 2032".
Please ensure the correct polarity (see fl oor of battery
compartment or printed symbol on the exterior).
•
Close the lid of the battery compartment.
Notes on Handling Batteries
•
Keep batteries away from children. They are not a toy!
•
Never throw batteries into a fi re or immerse in water.
•
When inserting a battery, ensure the correct polarity.
•
Do not open the batteries by force.
•
Avoid contact with metallic objects. (Rings, nails, screws et
cetera.) There is a danger of short-circuiting!
•
As a result of a short-circuit batteries may heat up conside-
rably or even catch fi re. This may result in burns.
•
For your own safety the battery poles should be covered
with adhesive strips during transport.
•
If a battery leaks do not rub the liquid into your eyes or
mucous membranes. If hands come into contact with the
liquid they should be washed thoroughly and eyes rinsed out
with clear water; if symptoms persist please consult a doctor.
•
Warning: Do not expose the batteries to high temperatures
or direct sunlight. Never throw batteries into the fi re. There is
a danger of explosion!
•
Used batteries should not be disposed of in the normal do-
mestic waste. Please return old batteries to an appropriate
connection point.
