Basic connection
•Set the power switches on the player and equipment to be
connected to OFF before connections.
•Read through the instructions for the equipment to be
connected.
•Be sure that the colors of the connectors and plugs match
up when connecting the cord.

S-video output connector
The S (separate) video output connector separates the color
(C) and luminance (Y) signals before transmitting them to the
TV set in order to achieve a sharper picture.
Use the S-video cord (optional) when connecting the player
to a TV set equipped with an S-video input connector for the
best picture clarity possible.

Connecting to a decoder or amplifier
with Dolby Digital (AC-3) processing
When playing discs displaying the Dolby Digital mark, the
Dolby Digital bit stream is output by using a decoder or
amplifier (not supplied) equipped with a Dolby Digital
processor. When playing discs provided with the Dolby
Digital or AC-3 logo, you can enjoy theater-quality audio right
in your own home.
