2.4 Operation

Turning On / Off
When the battery pack is mounted on the bike,
turning on the battery pack switch will turn on the
e-bike system; please refer to the manuals for the
Hub Motor and Display.
Before turning on the switch of the battery pack,
make sure that the battery is locked in place.
Notes:
- Confirm that the battery is locked properly;
after removing the key, pull the battery pack
backwards to test it.
- When the battery power is less than 5%, the
LED lights will not light up; only the display
screen will display that the e-bike system has
started.
According to ECP (Electronic Cell Protection), when
the battery is in over- charged or over-discharged
conditions, the battery will automatically enter a
disabled mode to help to prevent permanent damage.

2.5 Maintenance and cleaning

Maintenance
WARNING
X
Only use genuine Hydrive battery packs or
battery packs approved for your e-bike by
the manufacturer, and purchase only from
approved vendors.
Use of uncertified battery packs may result
in death or severe injuries.
X
Do not open any components unless
instructed by authorized dealers.
X
Remove the battery pack before performing
any inspections, maintenance or repairs of
the bicycle; inspecting, maintaining or
repairing the bicycle before removing the
battery pack may result in severe injuries.
Do not immerse the e-bike system or any
X
individual e-bike component in water, and
do not wash any e-bike component with
high pressure washing equipment.
X
Do not paint the Hydrive e-bike system;
doing so may cause permanent damage to
the system.
X
Before removing or installing battery packs,
make sure that the power of the battery pack
is turned off. Do not try to remove or install
the battery pack when the e-bike is turned
on or when the bike is in motion.
X
Store the key code for the battery lock in a
safe place. If the key is ever lost, the key
code will be required to obtain a new key
from an authorized dealer.
Cleaning
Do not immerse the e-bike system or any individual
e-bike component in water, and do not wash any
e-bike component with high pressure washing
equipment. The system is designed to operate in
rain and other adverse weather conditions.
Damage due to pressure washing or other heavy
cleaning may void the Hydrive system warranty.
Keep all components of the e-bike clean, especially
the electric contacts on the battery pack and frame.
Use a soft, damp cloth to clean them thoroughly.

2.6 Storage

Optimal handling of battery packs
If battery packs are used properly and stored under
appropriate temperatures, the usage life of the
battery packs can be prolonged. However, even if a
battery pack is stored properly, the power storage
capacity of the battery pack will decrease over
time.
If the battery charge life becomes significantly
reduced, this may indicate that the battery has
reached the end of its life and must be replaced.
A new replacement battery can be purchased
from approved dealers.
