TIPS BEFORE FIRST USE
Some parts of the iron have been slightly greased and as a result the iron may emit a slight
smoke when it is first turned on. After a while this will cease.
Before using the iron, remove all stickers or protective sheets from the soleplate using, if
necessary, a soft cloth.
Be careful not to scratch the plate with metal objects, such as zips, buttons, etc.
Pure wool fabrics (100% wool) can be ironed with the iron in the steam position. Preferably
select the position of the steam selector and use a dry ironing cloth.
Check if there is water in the tank; if you want to use steam, it is advisable to fill the tank with
water (see the appropriate paragraph).
Before connecting the plug of the iron to the power socket, check that the voltage corresponds
to the mains voltage.
SET THE TEMPERATURE
Always check if the ironing instructions are attached to the item to be ironed (they can be
found on a label showing the design of an iron. The dot numbers indicate the correct
temperature. Refer to the indications on the thermostat and in the table below) . Follow these
instructions for ironing in all cases.
If ironing instructions are missing but you know the type of fabric, see below. The table is valid
for real materials and does not concern any applied finish, gloss etc.
Fabric that has some kind of finish applied (sheen, wrinkle relief, etc.) can be best ironed at
slightly lower temperatures.
First divide the fabrics according to the ironing temperature: wool with wool, cotton with
cotton, etc. The iron heats up faster than it cools down. Then start ironing the items that
require the lowest temperature such as those made of synthetic fibers. Then progress to the
higher ones.
Turn the temperature control knob until it is opposite the setting index.
Pay attention to the symbol:
the garment must not be ironed.
