Learning to inline skate
You can teach children how to inline skate by following the advice below:
1. Practice taking the first steps with the feet pointing out as this reflects the
foot position whilst skating later on.
2. Stand upright with the feet parallel, about one hand's width apart. Move the
arms slightly ahead and bend the knees so that the shins are up against the
front edge of the skates.
3. Carefully shift your body weight onto the balls of the feet whilst skating.
4. Position one foot somewhat to the outside and push off gently.
5. Do the same with the other foot to find an own rhythm for skating.
6. To turn, use your hips and knees to tilt the skates to the inside or outside.
Try doing so in a standing position first.
7. Lean slightly to the inside when turning.
8. Use the stopper
(see chapter "Braking with the stopper").
The faster your speed, the longer the braking distance.

WARNING!
Risk of injury!
Inline skating without being able to brake properly may lead
to very dangerous situations in road traffic and road traffic
accidents. Children could severely injure themselves in the
process and also greatly endanger others.
− Make sure that children who use the skates on public
roads are able to safely brake.
− Only let children participate in road traffic with the skates
once they are able to safely brake.
Children brake safely using the stopper as follows:
1. Push the skate, which the stopper
while shifting the weight to the other leg.
If necessary, use the arms to help maintain the balance.
2. Carefully lift the foot tip of the skate, which the stopper is attached to.
The stopper will now rub against the ground and automatically brake.
