4.3. CARRIER DEVICES
These earmuffs should be fitted to and used only with the
carrier devices listed in Table B. These earmuffs were
tested in combination with the carrier devices listed in table
B, and may give different levels of protection if fitted to
different carrier devices.

Description
Description
6.1. HEADBAND
(Figure D)
D:1 Adjust the height of the cups by sliding them up or
down while holding the headband in place.
D:2 The headband should be positioned across the top of
the head as shown and should support the weight of the
earmuff.
6.2. NECKBAND
(Figure D)
D:3 Place the cups in position over the ears.
D:4 Keep the cups in position, place the head strap on top
of your head and lock it tight in position.
D:5 The head strap should be positioned across the top of
your head and should support the weight of the headset.
6.3. CARRIER ATTACHMENT
(Figure D)
D:6 Insert the carrier attachment in the slot on the carrier
and snap it into place (D:7).
D:8 Work mode: Press the headband wires inwards until
you hear a click on both sides. Make sure that the cups
and the headband wires do not press on the edge of the
carrier when in work mode as this could reduce the noise
attenuation of the earmuff.
D:9 Ventilation mode: To switch the unit from work mode to
ventilation mode, pull outward on the ear cups until you
hear a click. Avoid placing the cups against the carrier
(D:10) as this prevents ventilation.

PRODUCT LIFETIME
It is recommended that you replace your product within 5
years from date of manufacture. The lifetime of the product
will be highly dependent on the environment in which the
product is stored, used, serviced, and maintained. The user
must regularly inspect the product to determine when it has
reached its end of life. Examples that the product may have
reached its end of life are:
Visible defects such as cracks, deformations, loose or
missing parts.
Experience of a deterioration in the hearing protector's
attenuation performance.
8.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Use a cloth wetted with soap and warm water to clean the
outer shells, headband and ear cushions.
NOTE: Do NOT immerse the hearing protector in water.
If the hearing protector gets wet from rain or sweat, turn the
earmuffs outwards, remove the ear cushions and foam
liners, and allow to dry before reassembly. The ear
cushions and foam liners may deteriorate with use and
should be examined at regular intervals for cracking or
other damage. When used regularly, 3M recommends
replacing the foam liners and ear cushions at least twice a
