2.1
Inspection
On unpacking the electrode, inspect the shaft for any sign of
mechanical defects.
2.2
Preparation
a T ake off the watering cap
b R inse with distilled water
c R emove rubber cap
d C ondition and check operation of the redox electrode with
250 ml of METTLER TOLEDO redox buffer 220 mV (pH 7,
No. 51 340 065) at 25 °C.
– C onnect electrode to pH meter (set to mV range)
– I mmerse electrode in METTLER TOLEDO buffer
– R eading on mV meter must agree with the figure on the
flask (permitted discrepancy ± 5 mV)
– D iscrepancies of more than 5 mV must be allowed for in the
measured result
– I f discrepancy exceeds 10 mV, check the reference electrode
(see chap. 3 below)

electrode in measuring medium
