In this operating manual, the instructions preceded by this symbol may cause personal injury or
damage the instrument and installations if they are not scrupulously abided by or carried out.
You have just bought an ORITEL IR 205 SWR indicator, and we thank you for the interest you show for
our products.
In order to get the best use out of your instrument:
n carefully read this operating manual,
n follow the precautions for use.
n Before connecting the instrument to the AC network, the mains voltage must be checked to ensure
that it matches the voltage selected on the voltage selector located on the rear panel (see 3.1 Bringing
the instrument into operation).
n Never inject an AC or DC signal greater than 5 V to the input of the SWR indicator
n Abide by the climatic conditions of use (see § 3).
This instrument can be used on category II installations for voltages which do not exceed 250 V
relation to the earth. The equipment classified in category II is energy-consuming equipment getting
its power supply from fixed installations (cf IEC 664-1 standard, 1992 edition).
n All the instruments and components which are connected to the measuring bench and the AC network
shall be earthed.
n No voltage of ore than 30 V in relation to the earth shall be present on the measuring bench.
n Respect the value and type of the fuses to avoid damaging the instrument and nullifying the guarantee:
- 100 mA time-delay fuse (5 x 20 mm)
- 200 mA time-delay fuse (5 x 20 mm) (see § 5.1 Fuse replacement)
n Leave a free space of approx. 1 cm around the appliance for ventilation purposes.
Our guarantee is applicable for twelve months after the date on which the equipment is made available,
unless formally specified otherwise (extract from our General Conditions of Sale, available on request).
