Trigger input and output on the rear of the product
The GND pins of connections X31 and X32 are connected
to GND in the product and with the encoder connections.
A trigger is triggered upon each edge from LOW to HIGH.
Assignment of the differential signals:
U
: LOW to HIGH
Trigger,In+
U
: HIGH to LOW
Trigger,In–
Recommendation
The external trigger source should address the product via
differential signals. If the application requires single-ended
signals for triggering, the sensitivity to noise increases
because the EMC Directives according to which the
product has been tested are not complied with.
In this case, we recommend using 5 V TTL signals for
addressing the product and wiring the differential signals
as follows:
Do not wire the vacant input and switch off the
terminating resistor
Use U
for triggering upon rising edge
Trigger,In+
Use U
for triggering upon falling edge
Trigger,In–
External trigger input X31
Four independent differential inputs for the triggering of
trigger events are supported.
A 120 Ω terminating resistor can be connected.
For pin layout according to RS-485, see "M", Page 137.
External trigger output X32
Four independent differential outputs with individual
assignment to internal trigger sources of the product are
supported.
For pin layout according to RS-485, see "N", Page 137.

Connecting a computer
A computer can be connected to the Ethernet port X4.
For information on the location of the connections, see
"Rear panel", Page 26.
For information on the technical requirements, see "",
Page 33. TCP/IP and UDP protocols are required for
communication.
Connect the Ethernet port of the computer to
connection X4 using an Ethernet cable
The connection between the product and the
PC may be connected or disconnected even
while the product is switched on.
For X4 pin layout, see "O", Page 138.

Standard settings for the network parameters
Default address: 192.168.1.2
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: 192.168.1.1
DHCP client: deactivated;
the duration of the boot phase may change if DHCP is
activated
The maximum time between "power-up" and "ready for
communication" is approx. 60 seconds. After updating
the software/firmware, the occurrence of errors or during
factory boot, the start-up time can take significantly
longer.
The network address of the product can be assigned
automatically via DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration
Protocol) or entered manually. The DHCP configuration
for the product is described in the User's Manual for
Application Development, see "Notes on reading the
documentation", Page 20.

EIB 749: Connecting a remote reset
button
An external remote reset button can be connected to the
EIB 749 connection for an external remote reset switch.
When connecting the button, ensure that the position of
the slot of the external remote reset button is correct.
For information on the location of the connections, see
"Rear panel", Page 26.
For the pin layout of the connection for an external remote
reset switch, see "R", Page 138.
The remote reset input signals (Remote Reset
+, Remote Reset –) are electrically isolated
from the ground potential of the encoder
connections or the trigger connections.
